The current flag
of the Czech Republic was originally adopted by the country of
Czechoslovakia in 1920 and was proclaimed the official flag of the Czech
Republic in December of 1992, despite an agreement made before their
separation from Slovakia, that neither new nation would use the former
flag. The flag consists of two equal horizontal bands in white and red, the
traditional colors of Bohemia. A blue triangle originating from the hoist
side of the flag was added to the original design in 1920 to represent
Moravia and Slovakia |
